At Good Shepherd, there are many opportunities for you to use your God-given gifts in our congregation and in the community. Whatever your spiritual gifts may be, your service helps support Good Shepherd as we follow the Shepherd, nurture the flock, and seek the lost sheep.

CHURCH COUNCIL
Our Church Council helps lead the congregation and oversees all of our committees, ensuring our church continues to fulfill our mission. Membership consists of elected officials (President, Vice President, Secretary, & Treasurer), Pastors, Head Elder, and Committee Chairmen.
Meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in Cedar Rapids.

DISCIPLESHIP COMMITTEE
The Discipleship Committee shows love to our congregation by encouraging members to stay in contact with the Means of Grace -- God's Word & Sacraments. The Discipleship Committee has no set meeting time. They complete encouragement work on their own schedules.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The Education Committee oversees the spiritual feeding of every soul at both campuses through Bible Studies, Shepherd Kids, & Youth Group. Our Fellowship and Faith & Fun Teams report to the Education Committee.
Meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in Cedar Rapids.

ELDERS
The Elders assist our pastors in all matters pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the congregation. Elders encourage members to worship regularly, coordinate ushers, and ensure that worship continues to keep the Means of Grace as its focus. The Discipleship Committee reports to the Elders.
Meets monthly on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm in Cedar Rapids.

EVANGELISM COMMITTEE
The Evangelism Committee coordinates opportunities to reach out to people in our community without a church home. The Evangelism Committee coordinates events like Trunk or Treat and Easter Fest, encourages members to be witnesses in the community, and shares information about WELS Home & World Missions with our congregation. The Technology & North Liberty Outreach Teams report to this committee.

FAITH & FUN TEAM - NORTH LIBERTY
The Faith & Fun Team creates opportunities for our North Liberty campus to invite people to grow in faith and have fun (i.e. Bible Studies, small groups, North Liberty Fun Night, Youth Group).

FELLOWSHIP TEAM - CEDAR RAPIDS
The Fellowship Team creates opportunities for our Cedar Rapids campus to invite people to have fun with our church family, such as our annual chili cook off, Kernels game outings, and more!

GRIEFSHARE
Good Shepherd provides various grief support groups and seminars throughout the year We'd love for you to lead one of our GriefShare groups!

LADIES GUILD
Ladies Guild provides support to congregation, community and synod service projects, including meals, seasonal church decorating, food drives, and more!
Ladies Guild meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm, alternating meeting location between both campuses.

LIVING CREATURES MINISTRY
Good Shepherd's local branch of Living Creatures Ministry utilizes trained therapy animals to show Christian love and compassion to our congregation and community. Korra is our church's certified therapy dog and we have two other dogs in training. Human volunteers assist with visits, coordinate schedules, and train as handlers.

MAINTENANCE COMMITEE - CEDAR RAPIDS
The Maintenance Committee makes sure that the Cedar Rapids is kept in excellent condition, supervises work projects at church, makes sure that the necessary equipment is available for efficient maintenance, mows, removes snow, etc.
Maintenance meets as needed throughout the year

OUTREACH TEAM - NORTH LIBERTY
The Outreach Team creates opportunities to meet people in North Liberty (Easter Fest, volunteering at Breakfast with Santa, Beat the Bitter, and Blues & BBQ).

PROPERTY TEAM - NORTH LIBERTY
The Property Team is looking into our property needs and resources in the North Liberty community. They talk with the WELS Minnesota Board for Home Missions and realtors.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE
The Stewardship Committee assists members of the congregation in the use of their time, talents, and treasures in the best interest of the Lord’s work and receives and counts all monetary offerings of the congregation and makes deposits.
